About the Founder
Dr. Denguhlanga Julia Divine (Neema) Richard Conceicao Wanzer Domingos Kapilango, D.D.
Founder | Homage to Black Excellence
Dr. Kapilango’s leadership is rooted in transformative grassroots action. She is a community weaver who has organized more than 30 artist-entrepreneurship initiatives, redesigned public spaces, and led environmental and youth programs. Her work as a strategic leader in Dearborn, Michigan has initiated citywide conversations around equity and inclusion, embedding intergenerational healing into urban development. As the first Black woman chair of the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority, she disrupted systemic exclusion with the sacred force of cultural leadership and spiritual visioning.
Born from a lineage of revolutionaries, educators, and royal bloodlines spanning Angola, Brazil, Portugal, and the American South, Dr. Kapilango fuses spiritual authority with political and economic intelligence. Her father, Dr. Adao Jose Domingos Kapilango, was a liberation leader of Angola and a United Nations petitioner against colonial oppression. Her mother, Julia Ida Ann Wanzer, was a pioneering Black woman in corporate America and political organizing. From this powerful ancestry, Dr. Kapilango inherited a deep calling: to liberate and elevate.
Academically, Dr. Kapilango holds dual bachelor's degrees in Health Service Administration and Metaphysical Science, three master's degrees, and a Doctorate of Divinity in Spiritual Counseling. Her dissertation, Melanin Manifestation: An African American Spiritual Black Power, is a sacred text reclaiming the metaphysical sciences of Black power, intergenerational trauma healing, and divine liberation through high melanin spirituality.
Politically astute and spiritually grounded, Dr. Kapilango's visionary leadership bridges policy and prayer, economics and energy. She has worked across national platforms with political strategists, professional athletes, faith leaders, and urban designers to reimagine public health, economic dignity, and cultural sovereignty for Black communities.
Dr. Kapilango is the living embodiment of ancestral wisdom and revolutionary vision—a spiritual architect, metaphysical scientist, and intergenerational strategist committed to the healing, elevation, and transformation of the African American experience. As the founder of Homage to Black Excellence, she stands as a beacon of divine power, reclaiming legacy while building futures rooted in melanin manifestation, spiritual activism, and systemic transformation.
Homage to Black Excellence is more than a movement—it is a sacred mission. Under Dr. Kapilango’s guidance, it becomes a sanctuary for healing, a platform for legacy-building, and a revolution in motion. Her leadership invites us to rise beyond survival and into sovereignty, where Blackness is celebrated as divine, and where our future is as powerful as our past.
“I am the embodiment of ancestral prayers and revolutionary dreams. Through melanin manifestation, spiritual activism, and transformative leadership, I guide souls to heal, rise, and reclaim their divine power.” — Dr. Kapilango
