Documenting Our Truth. Preserving Our Living Record.

Homage to Black Excellence is a Black-led, faith-rooted, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) literary arts charitable organization committed to documenting, preserving, and elevating who we are as Black American people.

One living archive of knowledge and service.

Across everything we create—publications, digital literary arts, oral storytelling, curricula, training, webinars, workshops, exhibitions, music, community programs, food-sovereignty initiatives, caregiving, technology education, family rebuilding, and cultural research—we intentionally capture the knowledge, stories, participation, outcomes, and community impact produced through the work.

We collect and preserve:

  • Oral accounts, testimonies, and lived experiences
  • Black American family, congregational, and community stories
  • Program participation and service-impact data
  • Publications, curricula, training materials, and webinar recordings
  • Photographs, artwork, music, videos, and digital media
  • Community knowledge, ancestral wisdom, and healing practices
  • Organizational records, partnerships, milestones, and accomplishments
  • The continuing contributions of Black Americans to family, faith, culture, education, food, technology, the arts, economic community building, social development, leadership, and civilization

This information becomes part of a growing archive and library of living knowledge—created so our work can be accurately documented, studied, taught, shared, and preserved for present and future generations.

We do not allow others to define our identity, minimize our contributions, separate our names from our work, or erase the record of what we have built. Through careful documentation, ethical data stewardship, community storytelling, publishing, education, and archival preservation, H2BE protects authorship, honors lived experience, follows the truth, and ensures that credit remains connected to the people who created the work.

Every form completed, program attended, story shared, publication produced, lesson taught, and community outcome documented helps us tell the complete truth about the people we serve, the knowledge we carry, the systems we create, and the legacy we are continuing to build.

We teach. We document. We preserve. We equip. We rebuild.
This is our truth, our living record, and our legacy—preserved by us and carried forward through generations.
